It’s so fun to surf YouTube listening to bluegrass.  Sometimes you run across some real treasures.   Here’s a clip I stumbled on of the CW Brock family playing at the Berkshire Mountain Bluegrass Festival in the mid 80′s.  The young mandolin player here is Jesse Brock who was voted 2009 IBMA mandolin player of the year.

What a treat to hear the great Bryan Bowers autoharping this past weekend at the Kootenai River Bluegrass Festival.  The entire festival was a joy and pleasure.  Great band line-up including our very own Mike and Tari Conroy with the amazing Curtis Rathburn playing bass.  More about the other music and jamming later.  But for now check out Bryan doing his thing on the autoharp…  amazing

Jack Mauer and his dobro at the 2007 Bitterroot Bluegrass Festival in Hamilton, MTToday Jack is performing at a wedding in Belgrade, MT with his band, Pinegrass. It is a welcome break in the fly fishing guiding season when he can play music in this kind of venue. Here is a slide show from a wedding in Missoula, MT in September of last year.
