Howdy, it’s that time again.. we are officially signing up bands to play at the Stevensville Festival, Saturday, April 17th. As in years past- each band plays one 30 minute set. We record each band and send them a cd of their set..Then, if you would like, your band can donate a song from your set to the MRBA festival cd..which will be available Memorial weekend….This event is the annual MRBA funraiser.. Please let me know ASAP if your band would like to play as all 19 slots are usually filled within 24 hours… thanks Mike and Tari

It’s so fun to surf YouTube listening to bluegrass.  Sometimes you run across some real treasures.   Here’s a clip I stumbled on of the CW Brock family playing at the Berkshire Mountain Bluegrass Festival in the mid 80′s.  The young mandolin player here is Jesse Brock who was voted 2009 IBMA mandolin player of the year.

For those who haven’t tried this yet, there is a really cool Internet radio web site at www.pandora.com. Once you log onto the site, simply enter in your favorite artist or song, and the web site creates a radio station that features songs by that artist as well as similar types of music. You can enter any artist ranging from new to old from Bill Monroe to Ralph Stanley or any other bluegrass favorite. You can also search for stations that others have created.  I searched on bluesgrass stations and there was three pages of links to choose from.  The web site has compiled a wide variety of songs that make up the playlist. It is a great way to listen bluegrass music.
